Born in 1954 in Güstrow, the violist Erich Wolfgang Krüger is renowned as a chamber musician, soloist, and teacher. After studying with Prof. Alfred Lipka at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, he spent 20 years solo-violist at the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin (RSB).
Since 1979 he teaches at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin. From the summer term 1997, Erich Krueger has been Professor of Viola at the University of Music “Franz Liszt” and teaches in numerous master classes. Some of his students have won international competitions and many of his former students occupy prominent positions in the international music scene.
He is a member of various chamber music ensembles, for example, the “Bach-Collegium Stuttgart”, the Chamber Orchestra “Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach” and the Victoria-Mullova-Ensemble.
He has toured in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Numerous radio and television recordings and various CD-productions are an eloquent testimony of his work.
